Qualtrics XM is a cloud-based experience management software. It encompasses multiple products like Customer XM, Employee XM, Brand XM, and more. It is a great tool to track your satisfaction statistics across the entire funnel from both your customers and team members.

Mid-size to enterprise organizations are their most common users. Qualtrics focuses on end-to-end enterprise solutions and academic research.

This guide will walk you through most common competitors as well as some more affordable alternatives to Qualtrics.

Table of contents

Why look for Qualtrics alternatives?

This digital tool serves users for both survey data collection and analysis. It is popular among educators and researchers for scientific studies. The goal is to create engaging and youth-focused surveys.

On the downside, Qualtrics oftentimes requires extensive implementation support, which drives the contract value significantly. Customers also complain about the price and the steep learning curve.

Qualtrics does not provide pricing on its website. You have to book a demo with them or contact the sales team to get a quote. Like with other tools that use such a pricing model, that suggests subscriptions are expensive.

The Qualtrics survey tool also requires a higher level of sophistication than most of its competitors. You will need a code-fluent developer if you want to set up custom logic, branching, or customization beyond simple basics.

The bottom line is that if you are looking to make simple surveys and only need basic analysis, there are a lot of more affordable and easier-to-use options out there.

Survicate

Survicate has many functionalities, thanks to its rich template gallery and intuitive survey builder

Survicate focuses on customer feedback and user experience. The main benefits of choosing this tool are ease of use, support in closing the feedback loop, and automation of the data gathering process

This G2 report shows customers prefer Survicate in almost all categories. The average time for a Survicate survey to go live is less than a day, even with advanced customization. If you choose Qualtrics, this will likely take up to a month.

The average ROI for Survicate is 6 months or less for most clients. Qualtrics customers have to wait up to a year to get a turn on their investment.

This tool covers quite a lot of Qualtrics has to offer, but it's easier to use, and it has a wide range of integrations with great support. It’s an excellent alternative without all the hassle of a steep learning curve, complex sales, and the convoluted implementation process.

Survicate has the fastest time to value, and the implementation is lightweight. These aspects are something Qualtrics struggles with. If you want to collect insights quickly and easily, Survicate is the way to go.

We have 250+ professionally designed templates, a question bank, and a question suggestion system. You can have a survey up and running within minutes.

Even if you want to set up advanced branching and skip logic, you won’t need any coding skills or a developer. The same goes for connecting Survicate with any of our integrations, many of which are native and one-click.

While Qualtrics integrates with software like Apple Messages or Jira, Survicate focuses on tools that small and mid-size companies, as well as enterprises, work with every day. Among our integrations, you’ll find tools like Intercom, HubSpot, Google Sheets, and Salesforce. There is Zapier, of course, that will help you to connect with thousands of other tools as well.

One of the most common reasons users choose Survicate is the ease of use and intuitive interface. You’ll also be able to perform qualitative feedback analysis with Survicate x FullStory, SessionCam, and Smartlook.

It is easy to distribute Survicate surveys via email, on the website, and in-app. Design and targeting options make surveys engaging, which results in a high response rate. As a bonus Survicate allows collecting partial responses.

It is also a lot easier to analyze survey results with Survicate than it is with Qualtrics. There is a reporting tab available for each survey you create. Responses can be enriched with customer data from external systems for deeper analysis.

Survicate accumulates all collected data in one place.

You won’t need to use any filters or code options to get to your statistics. Filters are only there to help you find the data you need most at any given time.

The Survicate pricing model is public and not based on seats. This means you can involve as many team members as you want to take part in feedback collection and analysis.

Paid plans start at $89 per month, but Survicate offers a freemium model, which is great if you want to give it a spin. It allows you to run an unlimited survey for up to a week. If you're looking for a tool to run such surveys, it's free forever.

Medallia

Source: Medallia website

Medallia is a customer and employee experience management tool. In addition to surveys, it also offers in-app feedback and review features. Use it to aggregate comments on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and TripAdvisor to analyze them and boost satisfaction.

As a user, you do not have ownership over the platform. This means you have to engage with support to build surveys, make changes to them, alter or manage reports, and so on. Users complain that this process is inefficient and results in long turnaround times.

Medallia charges for users as well as what they call “units”. Those are named individuals in surveys who do not have access to log in. These could be, for example, customer service agents within your company.

Medallia surveys are not as specialized in comparison with that of Qualtrics. There are no templates to choose from, and any alterations must go through a Medallia expert or agent.

On the other hand, Qualtrics does not offer support regarding third-party site reviews or reputation management.

If your main focus is surveys, Qualtrics is the better solution. Medallia is better for those looking for a complete customer experience management solution.

Both companies require booking a demo to get a quote on pricing.

Confirmit

Source: Confirmit website

Confirmit recently merged with FocusVision Decipher to form the brand Frosta. They seem to continue working separately while Frosta works on the integration process. Both companies work in feedback management.

Decipher offers online surveys, interviews, and focus group solutions. Conformit provides a wider range of survey and reporting features. They target themselves as what they call “insights professionals”.

The focus of this tool lies on

  • Voice of the customer
  • Market research
  • Voice of the employee

Confirmit is a great solution for companies looking to discover employee insights and boost their satisfaction. You can use customizable survey templates to get the most important data. You can run the VoE program yourself or get support from their expert researchers.

Pricing is not available online, you have to book a demo to get a quote.

InMoment

Source: InMoment website

Formerly MaritzCX, InMoment focuses on customer, employee, and market experience. They offer feedback gathering from surveys and chatlogs, but they also incorporate indirect and inferred feedback. This includes social media reviews and mentions.

Use InMoment to find insights on how to differentiate from competitors, attract new customers, and identify emerging trends. This tool can also help you measure how successful your marketing campaigns are.

This software can connect feedback from multiple channels like social media, Google Reviews, and TripAdvisor. This feedback tool is popular in the hospitality industry.

InMoment is great for enterprises; you have to book a demo to get a quote on pricing. Customers give positive reviews about email and phone support, but there are no FAQ pages or a Help Center if you run into trouble.

This tool may also not be a great fit for those looking for multilingual support.

Emplifi Service Cloud

Source: Emplifi

Emplifi Service Cloud is an AI-powered platform focused on social media and experience. They claim to help turn followers into customers. This tool is great for brands looking for influencers and tracking their marketing campaigns.

Their WordPress plugin gives you real-time insights on purchasing decisions and product feedback.

Besides feedback collection, they also connect you with brand advocates. The Emplifi Service Cloud has a database of over 28 million influencers who can help promote your company.

On the downside, users complain about poor online support with no FAQs or Help Center. You also cannot set up an account by yourself.

You have to contact their customer success team, book a demo, and they’ll show you the key features. Notably, though, reviewers claim some features presented are locked behind an extra paywall after you get your subscription.

You can estimate the Essentials plan from several sources online at $200 for 5 users and tracking 10-20 social media profiles. Some content analysis is included.

Alida CXM

Source: Alida

The Alida CXM, formerly Vision Critical, software serves to:

  • Collect both direct and indirect customer feedback
  • Automate responses and other actions to collected feedback
  • Give users an overview of key customer experience metrics

Their survey creator has over 25 question types. Surveys are responsive and interactive on any device. The tool allows users to build surveys, distribute them, and analyze results.

Reviews focus on an intuitive interface, wide access to guides and extensive FAQ pages, and free survey templates. Alida CXM also provides live and on-demand training for your employees.

Upgraded plans offer multilanguage support and activity templates. You can also create surveys from scratch if you prefer. The software allows advanced survey logic and question flows based on chosen attributes.

You’ll be able to export results and collected data with a Star responses feature. This is meant to help analyze text responses. You’ll also be able to tag qualitative data to categorize responses for easier analysis.

Inside the tool, users can create a branded personal and sharable template library, so building surveys becomes faster and easier.

There is no public information on pricing or the onboarding process. You have to book a demo to get started.

GetFeedback

Source: GetFeedback

At its origin, GetFeedback was meant for Salesforce partners to gather feedback. Just like Qualtrics, it is a well-established customer experience management tool. If you already use Salesforce, they will likely be a great fit.

You can send surveys via multiple channels and analyze data in one place. Getfeedback links this information with your Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) natively.

GetFeedback also integrates with Marketo, Zendesk, and HubSpot.

The goal is for support teams to understand customer segments and easily build roadmaps to resolve issues, reduce churn, and boost customer satisfaction. GetFeedback is very popular for Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) score collection.

The Essential plan comes with a 14-day free trial. If you want to purchase a subscription, you have to contact the sales team for a quote.

InQuba

Source: InQuba

InQuba is a platform designed for analyzing and optimizing

  • Customer experience
  • Customer acquisition
  • Retention and churn
  • Conversion
  • And more

Choose this tool if your focus is on the customer journey. The software will help you discover and visualize how customers move through your tool or website.

You’ll be able to measure customer sentiment and emotional context. These deep insights can help you build a better roadmap or boost your support quality. The goal is to reduce dependency on developers.

You can sign up to see a demo video on their website. There is no pricing information available before such an introduction to the tool.

Bucket.io

Source: Bucket.io

Bucket.io is a cheap or free Qualtrics alternative, depending on your needs. There are limited capabilities, but you get some great features too.

A Bucket.io consultant can build your survey for you, there is a built-in analytics feature and multilanguage support. The builder can also make a landing page for your survey. You will need to do some coding to alter the appearance or quiz logic to use this tool.

You can connect all integrations through Zapier.

Bucket.io offers custom pricing, which is more affordable than Qualtrics, but it is not a scalable enterprise solution. If you want to collect complex or extensive data, choose Qualtrics.

Google Forms

Source: Google

There aren’t many free alternatives to Qualtrics. Collecting data as complex as Qualtrics customers usually collect comes with a steep price. But we recommend Google Forms if your needs aren’t as extensive.

You can create unlimited forms and connect them all to the Google Suite. Each form can have as many questions and options as you need, but customization is very limited. You cannot alter the appearance of surveys, and Google branding will always be visible.

Still, if you are looking for a free survey tool, Google Forms is a great pick.

Wrapping up

We highly recommend signing up for Survicate for free. You can run any survey for seven days with no charge for users, collected responses, use of integrations, or anything else. Once your survey concludes, you can build another one. No credit card is required.

I hope this post has helped you pick a tool that is the best fit for you. You can also see our Typeform alternatives and SurveyMonkey alternatives to see how Qualtrics compares to them. Also, you can foster your decision making by checking our newest ranking of best website satisfaction tools.
